Authorities warn of reduced visibility and strong winds during rainfall
DUBAI – The United Arab Emirate (UAE) is experiencing unsettled weather today, with scattered showers, thunderstorms, and occasional hail forecast across several regions, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
Rainfall is expected to intensify during the day in northern and eastern areas, particularly Al Ain, before spreading to other regions by night.

Winds will be light to moderate, freshening at times to reach 45 km/h, causing blowing dust and temporary reduction in horizontal visibility.
Temperatures are expected as follows:
- Coastal areas: 24°C – 27°C
- Inland areas: 23°C – 28°C
- Mountainous regions: 17°C – 21°C, with cooler nights

Seas in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea will be slight to moderate, occasionally rough with cloud activity.
Weekly forecast
Rainfall will continue across the UAE throughout the week. Tuesday’s showers will affect northern, eastern, and southern areas during the day, spreading to western regions, coastal areas, and islands at night. Wednesday will see scattered rainfall during the day, becoming concentrated over eastern areas and Al Ain by night before easing.

Thursday morning may bring lighter rainfall, with showers redeveloping in the afternoon across northern and eastern areas, including Al Ain, spreading overnight to western and coastal regions. On Friday, rainfall is expected to begin over islands and coastal areas before gradually affecting most parts of the country.
Weather across Gulf region
Unstable weather is not limited to the UAE. Saudi Arabia has issued red and orange alerts, warning of heavy rainfall, hail, and thunderstorms.
Oman has also reported flooding, with at least five fatalities in the past 24 hours due to vehicles swept away by wadi floodwaters. Residents in the wider Gulf region are advised to stay alert and follow official updates.

Authorities across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ajman have urged residents to remain cautious during unstable weather.

Motorists are advised to reduce speed, maintain safe distances, avoid sudden braking, and refrain from driving through flood-prone wadis. Entering valleys during heavy water flow carries a Dh2,000 fine, 60-day vehicle impoundment, and 23 traffic black points.
Public safety messages also advise:
- Stay at home unless travel is necessary
- Follow weather warnings and updates from official authorities
- Avoid venturing into mountains, coastal waters, or flood-prone areas
- Secure outdoor property and vehicles against hail
